As a Solar Electrician you will be our primary point of contact on the ground and integrally involved with the entire process of helping our customers go solar. Electricians must be well versed in residential wiring and able to coordinate with multiple crew members during the install process. This position will require the individual to have reliable transportation and the ability to communicate with other crew members and our corporate office effectively and efficiently. Reliable communication is absolutely crucial.

Responsibilities
  • Direct electrical construction work for assigned projects
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system components to resolve electrical issues
  • Ensure professional resolution of escalated field related issues and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with Field Support teams to maintain project flow
  • Enforce all national and local codes and keep up with any changes in the industry
  • Drive a safety-first culture and lead by example
  • Evaluate employee work performance and provide guidance and development
  • Work cooperatively with team members to complete residential solar installations.
  • Lead the installation of electrical systems that interconnect the solar array to the grid
  • Ensure work performed by all electricians is of good workmanship and compliant with current NEC and local codes
  • Work with crew members and home owners to fulfill any necessary system troubleshooting to support solar equipment installation
Requirements (Education, Experience, Certifications, And Other Skills)
  • Working knowledge of construction, electrical work, systems, and troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes and OSHA safety standards
  • Possess strong expertise in all aspects of trade related materials, components, equipment, systems, methods of installation, safety procedures, safe work practices, trade related calculations, blueprint and drawing interpretation, and trouble shooting.
  • Must have working knowledge and experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels
  • PV Solar installation experience is preferred but not required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to read and interpret single line drawings
  • Must be experienced with all required hand and power tools associated with the electrical trade
  • Ability to effectively manage work to achieve required timelines
  • Must be comfortable working from ladders and at heights
  • Ability to work safely from residential locations and rooftops
  • Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills
  • Effective communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Minimum 2 years of electrical installation and repair experience
  • Must maintain a clean and valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass pre employment screening

Physical Demands
  • Ability to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance)
  • Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces which requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balance
  • Ability to work in confined spaces which requires kneeling, crouching and climbing ladders
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to: excessive noise, heat, cold, wet environment, and humidity
